SLC Forum: Gold Moderator Opportunities

Smart Living Company is in search of moderators for our new forum! We want to encourage this community by ensuring that everyone who participates finds it useful, helpful and friendly. We will be choosing a select few members to become “Gold Moderators” on our forum. This is a volunteer position and requires just a few minutes a day of your time. Do you want to build this community with us? If so, keep reading!

What is a moderator?
A moderator is a forum user with elevated privileges; these privileges include access to the following options:
  • Start Post - start a post and post for public view
  • Hide Post - remove a post from public view
  • Edit Post - edit the content of a post
  • Issue Infraction - add an infraction to a users account for rule violations
A moderator is expected to use these functions to help enforce the Smart Living Company Forum Rules. The goal is to create a friendly environment that welcomes all users and allows for constructive discussion and content sharing. We also need moderators to patrol posts to make sure other users aren’t being rude, using foul language, or being unnecessarily negative.

What do we look for in a potential moderator?
We want a couple of Gold Moderators who are current Smart Living Company members, who have and will contribute positively to the community, and have an interest in encouraging and influencing members on the forum. If you’re a member who is fair and wants to provide positive value to other Smart Living Company Forum users, you’re a prime candidate!

What do we expect from a Gold Moderator?
There are no required commitment levels. We hope anyone applying to be a Gold Moderator can spend at least 30 minutes per day on the forum, but this is just a suggestion (not an enforced rule). If you can spend an average of 3 hours per week on the forum, we encourage you to apply to be a Smart Living Company Gold Moderator.

Will my application be accepted?
Maybe! We're looking for members who are mature and sensible, who have some Smart Living Company experience, and who want to further contribute to the forum and community. If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply.

Do moderators get paid?
Nope! It's a volunteer position that only pays in satisfaction of helping other members. You can be instrumental in helping other SLC members find answers to their questions, encouraging friendly discussions, and sharing tips and tricks for Smart Living Company success.
